An Interview with Pastor Nolan

Q: Why did you enter into ministry?

A: If you are going into full-time ministry, God has to call you.  I can’t think of anything that I could do that is more fulfilling than this job.  There is not a greater cause in this world than expanding His kingdom.

Q: What motivates you to work each day in God’s house?

A: My top motivator is watching God work in people’s lives.  You come to realize that you are very limited in changing people.  When God changes a heart — that is a miracle.  He just allows you join Him in making a difference.

Q: Name some people (past or present) that have inspired or shaped your life?

A: Name some people (past or present) that have inspired or shaped your life?

My parents are my top inspiration.  Without them in my lives, guiding me and shaping my life, I would not be here today.  I also have several other mentors in my life.

Q: What dream(s) do you have for the church?

A: I dream of a church that can be unified, with all ages standing up for Christ together.  I dream of a church that is passionate about seeking God.

Q: What do you do to relax?

A: I hang out with my wife, play with my kids, play guitar, turn my cell phone off, and golf.  I wish I could say that I love to read…

Q: What is your favorite ice cream?

A: Vanilla ice cream with caramel on top.

Q: What web sites, magazines or blogs do you visit most often?

A: I use sermon spice, sermon central, myspace, facebook, hotmail, and foxnews.

Q: What do you hate most about church life?

A: I don’t like it when the church follows their preferences rather than God.  Also, my pet peeve is when people will not love others and choose to not forgive.

Q: What do your kids teach you about God?

A: My kids are an amazing testimony to real faith and innocence.  They believe what you say without question, trusting that we want the best for them.  Having kids teaches me about the love God has for us — unconditional.  I know God loves me more than I could ever love my kids — that is amazing.
